Changes to parody of copyright works

On 01st October 2014 UK legislation will change to allow the parody of copyright works.

Under The New European Copyright Directive material can be used without consent so long as the use is fair and does not compete with the original version. Owners of the copyrighted works will only be able to sue if the parody conveys a discriminatory message and it would be up to a judge to decided if the parody was funny.
